Overall Purpose of the Role

Summary of the role - main purpose for the existence of the role.

The role is within the EMEA Record to Report (R2R) team, part of the GBS Group (Global Business Services), and reports to the R2R Manager. The EMEA R2R team is responsible for maintaining the general ledger for multiple international multicurrency business units. The current responsibility for this role is general bookkeeping. Collaborating with finance busines partners recording general ledger entries and performing account reconciliations.

Areas of Responsibility

MAJOR ACTIVITIES - Key elements (maximum suggested 6) and required results of the role.

·         Creating and maintaining sub-ledger entries supporting GL accounts

·         Collaborating with internal departments, identifying and recording general ledger entries such as accruals, prepayments, payroll, etc.

·         Reconcile GL accounts to subledgers on a regular basis

·         Reconcile inter-company balances

·         Prepare regular or ad-hoc reports for internal departments or external stakeholders

·         Provide professional support for the Accountants

Areas of Accountability

Where applicable, provide information about the size of the organization managed, operating budget, revenue accountability, number of employees or other quantitative data pertinent to this position.

Senior Accountants will be held accountable for the accuracy and completeness of the financial data of one of the well separated functional segments (e.g. Revenue recognition, technology expenses, S&M expenses) across the 15 business units of EMEA.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

Desirable:

·         Degree in the field of finance and accounting

·         In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations

·         At least 4 years experience in the field of GL accounting

·         Fluency in written and spoken Hungarian and English.

·         Confident user skill with MsOffice applications, especially in Excel

 

·         Additional European language skills.

·         Experience with PeopleSoft accounting software

·         Hungarian or Internarial accountant qualification (CPA)
